Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation Breaks Ground on New Youth Development Park

Anne Arundel County, MD, and the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation recently broke ground on a new Youth Development Park at Brooklyn Park Middle School in Brooklyn Park, MD. The new park consists of a multipurpose synthetic turf athletic field with a grandstand, scoreboard, and field lighting. There is also a lighted eight-lane competitive track and field facility, an outdoor basketball court, concession stand, and restrooms.

The Ripken Foundation partners with communities and organizations to build safe places like this for at-risk youth to not only exercise and play, but to enhance their lives through character-building programs, life skills curriculum, and clinics.

Stewart & Tate and Lewis Contractors, both part of The Stewart Companies, have teamed up for this project. Stewart & Tate will be constructing the erosion control, grading, and site utilities.  Lewis Contractors will handle the building work, electrical, final field construction, and other final site amenities.
