Stewart & Tate and Lewis Contractors Recognized for Work on the York County History Center

We’re proud to share that Stewart & Tate and Lewis Contractors, along with the entire project team, were recognized at the Central Penn Business Journal’s 2025 Top Projects Awards and Real Estate Development Summit for our work on the York County History Center.

Located in downtown York, PA, this 50,000-square-foot cultural campus centers around the adaptive reuse of a historic 1885 steam plant — a project that showcases the power of sustainable design and creative preservation.

From relocating massive artifacts to implementing major structural reinforcements in a dense urban setting, the construction phase came with its share of unique challenges. But the result is a truly transformative space that has already earned national recognition as one of the country’s top new museums.

This flagship project stands as a catalyst for downtown York’s revitalization and a testament to what’s possible through visionary collaboration.

Accepting the award are Christina McCullough, Director of Business Development at Stewart & Tate; Erin Himmelberger, Project Architect at Warehaus; and Benjamin Neely, Executive Director of the York County History Center.

We’re proud to celebrate this achievement and the collaboration that made it possible!
