Renovation of Lebanon Valley College’s Hammond Hall Dorm Rooms Is Complete

After the successful completion of the renovations to Derickson Hall in 2024, Stewart & Tate Construction was again selected to serve as the general contractor for renovations to Lebanon Valley College’s Hammond Hall. This latest project transformed 41 student dorm rooms with significant upgrades in comfort, energy efficiency, and modern amenities — all completed just in time for the upcoming academic year.

The summer renovation project, completed on an accelerated schedule, included the installation of new PTAC (Packaged Terminal Air Conditioner) units, upgraded insulation, fresh interior finishes, and critical masonry repairs. Work began with cutting new PTAC openings in exterior walls and safely removing vermiculite insulation. Masons then installed structural steel lintels and restored brickwork to support and frame the new systems.

Mechanical and electrical improvements featured the installation of PTAC unit sleeves and wiring, along with the replacement of outdated electrical devices. Each unit was sealed inside and out with high-performance caulking to ensure airtight, weathertight efficiency. Interior walls were insulated and finished with new aprons, while all rooms received fresh paint, durable luxury vinyl tile (LVT) flooring, and 6-inch cove base trim for a clean, modern look.

Existing windows were re-installed, recaulked, and repainted to match the refreshed interiors. The result is a fully updated residence hall that offers improved climate control, reduced energy consumption, and a more welcoming living environment for Lebanon Valley College students.
